Life Price — Privacy Policy

Life Price is a browser extension that shows how many hours of work a product costs, based on income and budget settings you enter. This policy explains what data the extension handles and where it goes. The short version: your financial settings and browsing activity never leave your browser; the only thing our servers ever see is a random install ID and its subscription status.

Data that stays on your device

The following is stored in your browser's extension storage (synced across your own Chrome profile by Google if you use Chrome sync) and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:

• Your income, wage period, work hours, and tax rate
• Your budget amount, period, and start date
• Your order history (captured on supported shopping sites to power the budget tracker)
• Your display preferences

Price annotation happens entirely inside your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or have any way to see the pages you visit, the products you view, or what you buy.

Data we collect

• A random install ID. When you install Life Price, the extension generates a random identifier (a UUID). It contains no personal information and is not derived from your device, browser profile, or Google account.
• Subscription status. The extension periodically sends this install ID to our backend (hosted on Supabase) to check whether a free trial or paid subscription is active. We store the install ID, subscription status, and related billing dates. Nothing else is sent with these requests.

We do not collect names, email addresses, browsing history, analytics, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell or share data with third parties for marketing. There are no ads and no trackers.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe (stripe.com). When you subscribe, Stripe — not us — collects your payment details, name, and email on Stripe-hosted pages, subject to Stripe's privacy policy. Our servers store only the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers needed to recognize your subscription; we never see or store your card details. If you never subscribe, we hold no payment information about you at all.

Service providers

• Supabase — hosts our database and subscription-check service
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing

Both act as processors on our behalf and do not use this data for their own purposes.

Data retention and deletion

Subscription records are kept while your trial or subscription is active and for as long as needed for accounting and fraud-prevention purposes. To request deletion of the data associated with your install ID, or to exercise any privacy rights available to you (such as access or correction), contact us at the address below. You can also cancel your subscription at any time through the "Manage subscription" button in the extension.

Children

Life Price is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the extension's release notes.
